Submit a Pitch

Business & Therapy publishes original reporting, analysis, opinion, and research translation for licensed mental health practitioners, practice owners, and mental health entrepreneurs. We welcome pitches from clinicians, researchers, policy experts, and subject matter specialists with deep knowledge of the mental health field.

What we are looking for

We publish across six editorial sections: Practice, Founders, Research, Opinion, Policy, and Tools & Tech. Strong pitches have a clear argument or finding, a defined audience within our readership, and a point of view that goes beyond what practitioners can find elsewhere.

We are particularly interested in pitches grounded in primary research, direct practitioner experience, or policy analysis. We are not looking for general wellness content, motivational writing, or pieces that could have been written without specific knowledge of the mental health field.

What we are not looking for

We do not publish sponsored content, promotional pieces, or articles that serve primarily to market a product or service. We do not publish content from contributors with undisclosed conflicts of interest. If you have a financial relationship with a company, product, or organization relevant to your pitch, disclose it upfront.

How to pitch

Send a pitch of no more than 300 words to editorial@businessandtherapy.com with the subject line "Pitch: [Your Working Title]." Include a brief description of the piece, the argument or finding at its center, why it is relevant to our readership now, and two or three sentences about your relevant background.

We respond to all pitches within two weeks. We do not accept simultaneous submissions for pieces that are already written. For pitches on an idea not yet written, simultaneous consideration at other publications is fine — just let us know if the piece is accepted elsewhere.

Become a contributor

If you are interested in becoming a regular contributor to Business & Therapy, include that in your pitch email. Regular contributors are expected to have deep subject matter expertise in one of our editorial sections and to produce at minimum one piece per quarter. We do not pay contributors at this time, though we review this policy regularly as the publication grows.

Response time

We aim to respond to all pitches within 14 business days. If you have not heard from us after three weeks, you are welcome to follow up once. We read every pitch we receive.
