About Business & Therapy

Business & Therapy is an independent editorial publication covering the intersection of mental health practice and business strategy. We serve licensed clinicians, practice owners, mental health entrepreneurs, and the organizations they build.

Our editorial mission is simple: to produce credible, rigorous journalism about the business of mental health — written for practitioners who are building real businesses, navigating real systems, and serving real people.

What we cover

We publish across six editorial sections: Practice, Founders, Research, Opinion, Policy, and Tools & Tech. Each section is owned by a dedicated correspondent with deep subject matter knowledge. We publish original features, research analysis, policy reporting, technology reviews, and opinion pieces — all grounded in the real experience of practitioners.

Editorial standards

Every article published by Business & Therapy is written or edited by a human being with subject matter knowledge. We use research tools and technology to support our editorial process, but every piece reflects human editorial judgment, original analysis, and a point of view grounded in the real experience of practitioners.

We do not accept payment for editorial coverage. Our advertising and editorial operations are separate. If we write about a product, service, or organization, it is because we believe it is relevant to our readers — not because we have been paid to do so.

Our team

Marcus Webb is Senior Editor at Business & Therapy. He covers practice strategy, organizational psychology, clinical leadership, and opinion. His writing takes positions. He believes the mental health profession has undersold its strategic value for too long.

Diane Osei is Practice & Policy Correspondent. She covers group practice operations, insurance systems, billing, and the founder experience in mental health. She writes for the practitioner who is trying to build something real inside a system that wasn't designed to help them.

James Calloway is Research & Data Editor. He covers clinical outcomes research, workforce data, and the science of mental health practice. He translates complex research findings into actionable insights — and is careful never to overstate what the evidence actually says.

Renata Lima is Technology & Tools Correspondent. She covers EHR platforms, telehealth infrastructure, AI tools, and the clinical tech stack. She is skeptical of hype and evaluates every tool by one standard: does it actually work for a practicing clinician?

Theodore Park is Policy & Advocacy Reporter. He covers mental health legislation, parity law, Medicaid and Medicare policy, and insurance reform. He follows the money, names the institutions, and connects policy decisions to the practitioners who live with their consequences.
